Google Chat

beta

Bring a self-hosted AI agent into Google Chat without leaving Workspace. openclawOS pairs via the Chat API and routes per-space.

Google Chat is half-remembered, half-loved, and very much present inside every Workspace tenant. openclawOS pairs cleanly via the Chat API so Pi can answer DMs, get @-mentioned in spaces, or be invited to specific rooms.

Setup

  1. Create a Chat app in Google Cloud Console. The CLI gives you the exact OAuth scopes.
  2. Publish internally to your Workspace org (an admin click).
  3. Drop the service account JSON into the openclawOS Control UI.
  4. Add Pi to a space or DM it directly.

Why this matters

Most Workspace orgs have a moratorium on “another SaaS that sees our data”. openclawOS lets the AI live inside your network and only talk out to your chosen LLM. The data plane never touches a third-party vendor.

Common questions

Yes for the initial app install. The bot requires Workspace publication scope (internal-only is fine).

Run Google Chat through your own Pi.

Install openclawOS, pair this channel, message your agent. The whole loop is under five minutes.
