About

We're tired of giving our messages to other people's clouds.

openclawOS is the Neul Labs distribution of openclaw, the multi-channel AI agent gateway originally built by Peter Steinberger and Mario Zechner. We took the open kernel, added prebuilt installers, signed Docker images, and a managed cloud option — and started writing the kind of plain-English documentation we wished existed.

What we believe

  • Your messages are yours. No "we anonymise it" — your conversations stay in your network, your disk, your backups.
  • One agent, every channel. Pi should not care whether you typed in Telegram or yelled into Signal; the response is the same, the context survives.
  • Self-hosting should be boring. If you can install Plex, you can install openclawOS.
  • Open source isn't a slogan. MIT, no contributor license shenanigans, no telemetry-by-default.

Meet Clawd

Clawd is a space lobster. He has eight knives. He hates cloud lock-in. He believes every developer deserves a TARDIS for their messages — a time and space machine that follows them across devices, networks, lifetimes. We hired him as Mascot in Chief; he insisted on equity.

Who maintains this

openclawOS is maintained by the Neul Labs team, with daily upstream rebase against the official openclaw repo. We submit fixes upstream first; the fork only exists to package, sign and host.
